An anxious feeling filled my body as I sat patiently, waiting onstage for my numbers to be called. “ You did great in all of your dances,” I told myself. " Why are you getting so nervous? It won't change anything. “ Thinking this just made the anxiousness get worse. The awards had just started, and my first number had been called. “ Featherstone… Platinum.” The announcer called. This was my contemporary dance, my favorite dance this season. In case you didn't know, your dances were ranked with Gold being the lowest and then going High Gold, Platinum, and then Diamond being the highest. My friend Madison went up to retrieve the trophy and pins, and I smiled in relief that we did pretty well. After a couple of dances, one of my dances was called again: “ Sweet Dreams… Diamond.” With this being called, all of my nerves left me, and joy perked up right there in its place. “ Sweet Dreams” was my jazz dance, and I was proud of everyone in the group because we had made much pr...
It was a sunny day in early fall and me, my sisters, and my parents were in the front yard. Me and my sisters were coloring on a blanket while my parents cleaned out the garage. When Rose woke up from her nap, she came to snuggle on my mom's lap. While my mom was snuggling Rose, she checked her head because she had been scratching. She called to my dad and he checked Rose's head too. Then my mom called over my other sister, Adi. I can tell it's bad because I can see my mom making faces and she kept checking their heads. Finally, she told us all to get in the car. We drove a few minutes away to a store. "Do we have lice?" I asked her. "I think your sisters do and you might," she said. We all got out and walked into the store. The store was like a salon. There were salon chairs and each one...
It was a dark and breezy winter night and I was coming home from my my mom's friends daughters dance recital. I was so much fun and everyone did great! When we got home we parked the car in the garage and we ran to the door because we were so tired. My sister opened the door and said,¨ It is locked.¨ Everyone tried opening the door but it was definitely locked. No one knew what to do, but my mom unlocked the car and we all went in, except for daddy. ¨Can I honk the horn?¨ I asked Mom. She said no. We were sitting in the front seat because we never get to go in the front. I kept touching all the parts of the steering wheel, trying to find where the horn was hidden. We started opening compartments and touching the mirror. We were actually having fun. HONK!!! The horn finally honked and everyone laughed except for mom. ¨ I told you no.¨ Mom said. ¨Wait!¨ I screamed I was looking out the window at dad. And then suddenly I started to laugh! ¨What are you laughing at?¨ My s...
