Dance

An anxious feeling filled my body as I sat patiently, waiting onstage for my numbers to be called. “ You did great in all of your dances,” I told myself. " Why are you getting so nervous? It won't change anything. “ Thinking this just made the anxiousness get worse. The awards had just started, and my first number had been called. “ Featherstone… Platinum.” The announcer called. This was my contemporary dance, my favorite dance this season. In case you didn't know, your dances were ranked with Gold being the lowest and then going High Gold, Platinum, and then Diamond being the highest. My friend Madison went up to retrieve the trophy and pins, and I smiled in relief that we did pretty well. After a couple of dances, one of my dances was called again: “ Sweet Dreams… Diamond.” With this being called, all of my nerves left me, and joy perked up right there in its place. “ Sweet Dreams”  was my jazz dance, and I was proud of everyone in the group because we had made much pr

HOTTTTTT

Last night was an  almost normal night. The temperature was not cold but not hot either. My bed was comfy and the only thing that was different was my mom was visiting her old College. It didn't really affect me sleeping-wise, that's what I thought until I close my eyes.  I thought nothing was different. My bed was comfortable but my room felt a little bit stuffy. I decided to turn on my fan and open my door a little bit to see if that would get rid of the hot air roaming around the room. Although the fan and Open Door were helping, they didn't fix the problem completely. I couldn't think of what else to do, and now the problem was getting worse. It felt as if the room was getting hotter and hotter by the second. I decided that my only option was to get my dad . I slowly walked over to his room so that none of the floorboards would creak and wake up my sisters. I slowly opened his door and saw that there was a light glowing onto his face, I soon realized that it was hi

SORRY

Sorry, I didn't post yesterday; I was out of the house most of the day; let me tell you what I did:  1: I left with my mimi and pop after they set up my mom's birthday present. It is a little book library in front of my house, it's green and really pretty.       2: We went to Home Depot to get pansies. A lot of them were dead, but Mimi and I were able to find some pretty nice ones. We got light purple ones that were big, light purples are were small, dark purples that were big, little white flowers with purple insides, and big white ones. 3: Mimi and I went to her house to plant the flowers while Pop went to get us lunch. We need to buy a few more because not all pots were full.  4: After lunch, we did a little shopping, then went to The Parlor to work because my uncle owns it.

Peach and Pit

Image
In our house, many nights, at dinner, we share the best part of our day (our peach) and the worst part of the day (our pit). Today, we spent the whole day in New York City. We walked around and then we saw Wicked. On our ride home, we shared our peaches and pits. Our mom wrote them down and that's our slice for the day: Me: My p each was breakfast because we went to a restaurant and ordered Oreo waffles. They were waffles with Oreos in the batter, chocolate syrup on top, ice cream, and Oreo crumble. It was delicious. My pit was that it was very crowded in the city. There were a lot of people bumping into me. Rose:  My peach was walking around the city because I liked walking past all the stores. My pit was driving home because there were so many bumps. Adi:  My peach was watching Wicked because I liked it when the winged monkeys were flying over my head. My pit was being itchy. We even had to stop at CVS to buy lotion. I had to smell them all to find one that was just right. Dad:

PILE

Today I had my first haircut by someone who was not my aunt. The lady who cut my hair was a lot like my aunt. They both have red hair, and they both have the same name; my aunt's last name is Carey, and this was the hairdresser's first name.      The salon was very inviting, it had happy music playing, and there was water running in the distance; it was soothing. It also smelled like a beautiful shampoo that smelled like coconut and vanilla. The walls were wood, and they looked tropical.       In the car, my sisters and I had agreed that I would go first. The woman, Carrie, took me to the chair near the sink. She rinsed my hair, put a towel on it, and walked me back to my mom. She started to brush out my hair and then combed my hair to get out knots.          Then tragedy struck. She got out her scissors and started to snip away. I didn't think that she had cut a lot at first; it had seemed like it was only a couple of strands.       I was wrong; there was a pile of
