BYE

I am sorry to say,  but this is my last slice of today,  not today, all year,  when I talk about it I can feel a tear.  This has been such an opportunity to do all of this fun,  But I am so sorry, I am done.  I had a great time, reading comments and writing,  I just want you to know that it had been delighting.  I loved writing each and every day,  Do not worry I will not go away.  I will be back next April and ready to write,  More stories will come, and it will be all right,  So come back next time and we can have some more fun,  But I have to go, I am on the run!!!

DAD

The end, I wrote on my paper. I had just finished writing an assignment when I saw my teacher. He waved me over to where he standing by the window. I was confused because I didn't know what he wanted to talk about. He was correcting homework, so maybe he was going to talk to me about that I thought. But, I was wrong. I stood up and put down my pencil.  He pointed out the window. There I saw my dad. He had his black coat on and a purple sweatshirt hood peeking out from the top.  He must have been taking his usual midday walk, something he does whenever he is working from home. I looked at Mr. Stillway confused. What did he want me to do? I got nervous that I was in trouble. I did not do anything wrong. I must have been wrong, why would I be in trouble? "Say hi!" he told me as he opened the window. I knew that I was supposed to but I didn't want to disturb the class next door. They seemed focused. My class was too. Mr. Stillway gave me a look that told me he wanted me t

RUSH

¨ Come on.¨ My pop says from outside the dance studio window.  ¨ I have to go. ¨ I tell my dance teacher.  I rush to the bathroom and take off my dance costume and change into my soccer clothes. I slip on my pink sweatshirt and wash my hands. The water was cold so I pressed the other button. It warms up. I press the button to get the soap out of the dispenser. I rub and rinse.  My pop is waiting for me at the door. I hand him the costume to put into the bag that it came in while I rushed into the studio to get my water bottle. When I have all of my soccer and dance stuff, I follow my pop into the lobby.  We walk toward the exit door. On the other side of the glass doors, there are girls with high buns and leotards and tights. I open the door for my pop and he passes it to the next girl. When we make it out the door, I slip on my shoe so that it is actually connected to my foot. I held my pop´s hand as we crossed the street together.   We get into the car and my pop rides away when I

DAD JOKES

DAD JOKES My teacher Mr. Stillway,  Well when he shows up each day,  He pulls out a box, tall and green,  All the kids think that it is the worst thing they have ever seen, ¨ Dad jokes¨ It says on the side,  laughing emojis, what a lie.  When he opens the top, I act like a cop,  ready for things to come at me,  Not good things bad things the worst you have ever heard, My attention flies away like a bird,  He shuffles through and picks a card,  To tell him to stop is kind of hard.  He opens his mouth and and says a word,  It really is is not the kind of thing that I preferred. They all yell boo but I give tens,  I really don´t care what they think, he is my friend.  My teacher yells, ¨ Just give me one.¨ I guess that I kinda like it just not a ton.  So that is all about Stillway´s dad jokes,  Here is only one piece of advice,  Don´t try it out, it POKES!!!

A Great Day

Today was a great day, let me walk you through it .  1. I walked into school for the first time in ten days. I was exited to see all of my friends for the first time in a long time.  2. I went to band and practiced for our big concert in May. I love playing my clarinet with my band friends. We played twinkle twinkle little star, lightly row, and we did little red caboose. 3. I came back to my classroom and switched classes for math with Mr. Wright. We reviewed some shape patterns and went over different names for shapes. I got to draw a trapezoid on the SMART board.  4. Then we went to P.E. It was so fun. We practiced for the pacer test in the fitness test. I got all the laps except for one when the teacher confused all of us. 5. I went to enrichment with Ms. Gilyard. I started researching for a lesson that I will be teaching kindergartners in a few weeks. It was fun.  6. I went to lunch and had my favorite, PIZZA, GRAPES, AND OREOS!!! Yummy.  7. I Came back and did a practice IAB, wh

BASKETBALL

¨Oh no!¨ My sister cries as the ball slips out of her hands.  We both run to the end of the driveway. Our driveway is like a hill so the ball continues to roll. Soon my sister is on the floor trying to grab the ball.  I run and and fall onto my knees, trying to grasp the ball in my fingertips. I lay down on my stomach to be closer to the ball. I have it. It is in my reach. I just need to get a tad bit closer to it to get a good grip.  I try to move closer to the ball but the driveway makes it hard to move. ¨ Grab it, grab it!!!!!!!!!!¨ My sister yells from behind me.  You would think that she would get up and pick it up. But she did not. Soon my fingertips slip away from the ball. It rolls. Soon it is in the road.  Now here are 3 facts about my street: 1. My house is in front of a big hill 2. If something is rolling down there, it will not stop rolling  3. At the end of the street, there is a BUSY road So the ball continued to roll down the hill. ¨ Dad!¨ Me and my sister yelled at the

Misunderstanding

It was a normal day. A normal month. A normal year. And I was taking a normal bathroom break right before lunch.  I signed out and it was 11:46. That meant that it was only four minutes until lunch. I did not want to be late because I did not have a very filling breakfast that morning and did not want to miss even a second of lunch.  When I was walking to the bathroom, I saw, my student teacher helping students, boys in line for the bathroom, other teachers, doors, and normal school stuff. Then I was finally at the door.  I hoped that no one was in the bathroom because I really had to go and I did not want to be late to lunch.  But I always wait wait for the people with hot lunch to get their food, so I would not be that late.  I knocked. ¨ Someone´s in here.¨ Yelled a soft voice.   Oh no!  I thought. I looked around for something to look at. I saw something weird.  My teacher was waving me over. Was I in trouble? Did I do something wrong? I did not think that I did anything. But no

LOST

¨ Come wash your hands.¨ My mom told us.  We were at the farm and we were almost done. We had fed all the animals from the cows, to the goats. Now it was time to leave.  When I was done I peeked into my fanny pack to close it. That was when I noticed that my camera was not there. I searched in every compartment in the fanny. But I could not find my camera. I was nervous. Maybe I had dropped it and someone took it. Or............................................................................................................. A goat had eaten it!!!! Anyway, I was scared. ¨ Mom, I can´t find my camera!¨ I yelled.  Then I walked off. I retraced my footsteps.  First I went to the goats. I searched everywhere. In the gate, and outside, on the food carousel, everywhere. I was getting more nervous. But then I saw my Mimi that had come to help. ¨ Did you find it?¨ She asked me.  I shook my head and then kept going along the path. Then I went to the sheep. I remembered taking a picture of them

First Day

It was a scary day. It was my first day at my new school. I was nervous. I do not know why, but I was. I missed my old school and missed my old house. Even though I had done this 3 other times, I was most nervous this time.   When we were done dropping my sister at her door, my parents walked me to my door. I squeezed them nervously. Then I stepped off to my new school.  ¨ Good morning.¨ I greeted the teacher at the door.  She nodded at me as I stepped into the door. I was confused. This was not the way we entered at the tour so I did not know how to get to my classroom.  Luckily for me there was a teacher at the bottom of the stairs to help me. She was pointing to a bunch of kids so I waited my turn. When it was my turn, I asked, ¨ Where is Mr. Stillway´s class?¨  ¨ Up there.¨ She told me as she pointed up the stars.  She was not much help. I knew it was upstairs, But not the exact classroom. All that I remembered was that there was a sponge bob flag hanging above the classroo

Snow

Wow I am awake finally, I wake up smiling I cross my fingers and look out my window,  And I am so surprised to see snow! Snow glistening everywhere,  I look and look for a spot that is bare, I see no sign of grass or dirt All I can see is white, the color of my shirt. The trees are covered in snow, The ground somehow seems to glow, With every blink I see a new flake, Now we will now not have to rake. Snow is every child´s dream,  Snow is much better than it may seem, And if I ever see it again, I will make a snow den!!!

BIKES

It was a nice day and an April break day as well.´´Do you guys want to go on a walk?´´ My Mom asked and my sisters. We all said yes and went outside to wait for Mom. She was still finishing our dinner and was not ready. We were all excited because we got to ride our bikes and we normally don't on weekdays. I thought that I was the most excited. I went in the garage to get my bike. I had to pull it out because all the other bikes were in front of it. Mine had to go first because it was the biggest bike in the garage. I guess that was a good thing but not in this situation. I had to do a lot to get it out. I had to move my sister's bike and my other sister's bike and wagon. Then I had to go back in to get my helmet. Once my bike was finally out I was ready just start getting ready for the walk. I put on my helmet and buckled it. I went on my bike and adjusted the gears to the right gear that I want it to be. Then I started to ride. I run in circles and circles and circles a

FIRE

"Fire!" my mom yelled from the kitchen. I ran up the stairs and my heart was beating fast. Halfway I nervously sped up. "Fire," I thought. "Where?" I slipped on a stair but quickly got back up. The next thing I heard was my mom yelling, "Arn, there is a fire!"  I smelled smoke and when I got to the top of the stairs, I realized my sisters were in the kitchen. I looked toward my mom. There was a fire in the stove. My dad was rushing down the stairs. "Go outside," my sister yelled as she ran out the door and we followed her. I was scared. I never experienced a fire other than in the fire pit. I knew that this was not like the fires in the pit, this one was real. I hoped that it would be ok as I stepped out the door and onto the driveway. The driveway hurt against my bare feet. I had been watching tv and ran out without my shoes. I remembered a fire safety video from school, don't stop to grab anything.  While I was outside, my teeth

Easter morning

I woke up and everything was normal. Then I realized that it was a special day, it was Easter!!! My sisters were screaming and I realize that they were in the hallway. Obviously they weren't listening because our parents said that we can only go downstairs at 8. It was around 7 a clock and we had to wait another hour until you're allowed to go downstairs.   I pulled out my iPad and press the on button. I decided to pass time while watching a TV show. My sister's continued screaming while I'm watch the TV show. I waited about a half hour until the show is done. That I decided to go check on my sisters. They were screaming and jumping around. I could tell that they were excited about Easter. My youngest sister I was only 3 last year so she forgot all about her 2nd Easter.  Then I watched as they went into Adi´s room. I decided to tag along because I had nothing better to do. I was bored. They were playing on one of my sister's computer. Then it was 8:59. We only

Not Feeling Well

I fluttered open my eyes. I then remembered that I had slept over at my Mimi´s house the night before and were still there. It was a Tuesday morning so we had to get ready for school.       I took a deep breath in. That was when I noticed it. My throat was sore. It felt like I had swallowed a bee and it was continuously singing my throat. That meant it felt bad. And I didn't think that I would even be able to stand up.      When I did surprisingly stand up I knocked a tissue off of the bed. I stared at my water on the nightstand beside me. I thought that I had to drink water and it would be okay.      When I sipped the water and took another deep breath in I felt sorrow deep inside me. It didn't work and I had to tell a grown up. I wanted to wait until I knew that one of my grandparents were up so I can tell them.       I was nervous. I really wanted to go to school, and if I didn't I would miss a whole school day. And on Wednesdays I have dance class so it would be

Lunch:A poem

Lunch It's 11:50 and I hear the bell ring, Now I know that it is time for my favorite thing.  It's lunchtime and time to take a break, a half hour is all the time that it will take,  I enter the lunchroom and find a table, I ask the lunch lady to open my lunchbox  because I am not able.     I wait for my friends to come back from getting their lunch, When they are back I am hungry a bunch. I start with my pizza and take a bite, I might finish it all, yes I might. Then I go down for a sip of my drink, It is more refreshing than you or I think,  I swallow and go back to my lunch, I realize that I missed it a bunch. I eat my oranges, one piece at a time, my oranges are better than limes. When I finish all 12 pieces, Too bad that we are not allowed to eat reese's .  And when I get to my cookies,  I am feeling like one of the rookies, I have finished all of my food, Now I am in a mood, A good one, Happy and bright, And I have finished with all of my might.

Last Day

Image
It was a cold November day and a sad one too. It was my last day in my old house. In a few hours, it would not be mine. It would belong to another family. Even though I liked my new house, I would miss my old house a lot.       We walked in the front door. It smelled sweet, almost as if it was covered in candy. My mom yelled, " Don't make a mess!" Although the house was empty, I don't see how we could. But, my sisters can always find a way to make a mess.       I walked slowly upstairs chewing on my chocolate bar. It was sweet but my heart was dull and it was sinking. When I got to the top of the stairs, I felt a tear fall down my cheek. I was sad, but tried to hold it into my eyes.       I walked to the end of the hallway and opened my bedroom door. It opened with a creak that screeched on my eardrum.      When I stepped in, a tear fell down my cheek once again. Then another, then another, soon I was weeping.       My empty room looked nothing like it had befo

ANTICIPATION

It was a cold and windy afternoon. Me and my class had just come back from recess. I thought we were just going to come in and pack up to leave. I was wrong.      " Today I will announce the students that will be moving on in the invention convention. There are three students that have made it, more than any other class. " My teacher told us.      I suddenly got butterflies in my stomach. Was I going to make it? would I go on? Or would I lose? The suspense was killing me. My breath got hot. Soon my whole face was hot. I was nervous.      " Our first winner is A.J.!!!!!" My teacher said.       We all clapped. Would I get that applause? Or would I not? I was not sure. I thought that I did pretty good with my: Re-CO, Reusable COVID 19 test. But was it enough? I could not tell.       " Our next winner is...." My teacher stopped for suspense, " JORDYN!!! "       Everyone clapped even though Jordyn wasn't here. We were all proud of her. But my h

Finally

It had been a dull week. My teacher hasn't been in school for four days and everyone missed him. Every day, we hoped that he'd be back, but he wasn't. Our sub, Ms. G, was nice. But she is not Stillway.  It was Friday and we hadn't seen Mr. Stillway all week. When I was getting ready for school, I kept hoping he was going to be back. When I got to school and walked into the building, I hoped he would be there. My fingers were crossed, hoping he would finally be there. I opened the wooden doors as I walked into the hallway. I found the Sponge Bob banner marking our classroom. I quickly walked into the room, fingers still crossed, hoping more than ever that he would be there. I couldn't survive a whole week without him.  I couldn't believe my eyes. My PE teacher was sitting at Mr. Stillway's desk. I know that the specials teachers sometimes sub when the teachers are at meetings, but I still didn't know if Mr. Stillway was there or not. I slowly walked up t

The New Person

It was an ordinary Tuesday, school, and at that time I was just walking in.      When I got there I said good morning to the teacher at the door, Ms. Bloch. I walked up the empty stairs. They were empty because I was behind a few minutes and everyone was already upstairs in the classroom.      When I got to the top, I pushed the handle to open the door and walked up to my classroom. The halls were quiet and I could not hear a peep. I wondered why. The halls were normally loud as the gymnasium when the whole school was sitting in there.      When I walked in, there was a lady sitting at my teacher´s desk. That wasn´t the weird thing. The weird thing was that I thought my teacher was out, but he was standing there too. WEIRD!!!      I still walked to my desk and acted normal. I put my stuff in my cubbie and then walked back to my desk. I pulled out my work packet and worked for a half hour.       Then we all went around the room for morning meeting and the strange lady followed us

Popping

It was a nice cool spring night and me and my family were going on a walk. Before we had left, I had stuffed 2 pop-its in to my pocket.       When we left I had pulled out my yellow pop it and handed my other one to my little sister Rose. I had popped one popper. Seeming so satisfying, I popped the next one, and then the next one.       Soon all of the poppers were down and I flipped it around.         I put my head down and quickly moved my fingers, popping poppers. My fingers were cold but that couldn´t stop me from popping. Every pop, my fingers got colder until I had to stop.       I put my pop-it back into my pocket and stuffed my hands into my pockets to heat them up. In my pocket I was secretly popping my pop-it.  ¨ Pop, Pop, Pop.¨ I heard from my pocket.      I thought it was pretty loud but no one else could hear it. It might have been because I knew that it was happening. I looked over at my family to see if they knew.       Once my hands were warm I pulled out my pop-

Tired

Today was a fun, but late day. After school when my mom came back home, we went to Jack and Graces house to play. We stayed for 3-4 hours and then came back home. This is what happened.       We had gone upstairs to get ready for bed. I could feel a yawn coming on. Since I was so tired I decided to go and sit on my bed. I ran into my room tiredly.       As soon as I sat down, I slowly started to lay down until I was flat on my back. I was so tired that my left eye slowly shut and soon after, my right eye was shut.       Don´t worry, I was not asleep. I was just tired and resting my eyes for a while. It felt so good to close my eyes. The soft blanket rubbing against my back. And my head slowly sinking into my sheets on my bed.             My sisters were screaming in the background but it did not bother me. I had to rest. I just had to.       Then I heard steps coming up the stairs. Then I heard my mom´s voice. ¨ She is probably coming up to tuck me in.¨ I thought to myself.

Going Down

It was a pretty cold end of winter day, and it was a Saturday. Me and my family were going to the school playground to play. I was super exited because I never get to play on the green playground.       When we got there, my sister pulled me up the stairs, through the tunnel and onto the top. She ran over to the pole. I had never gone on it but had watched my younger sister Adi through the window at school.       When we were on the playground, I always tried to go down, but it looked so scary and high. I had always decided that it was a better choice to not waste my time standing on the top of a pole. Although it always looked fun.      So back to the story. I watched as my sister slowly pulled off her gloves and firmly attached her hands to the pole. ¨ Watch!¨ She told me.       Although I did not want to watch, I still did. She picked up her legs and then slid down. And landed on her feet!!! How did she do that!?! And at that moment, I felt embarrassed that my 7 year old sist

SURPRISE PARTY STRESS!!!

It was a Monday, cool, spring day. It was also my uncles girlfriend´s birthday.       We got there at 6:05 and it now was around 6:25. Since it was a surprise party she did not know about it. My uncle had just texted my Mimi that he was going to be here in 8 minutes.       Everyone was behind the counter because we were at my uncles pizza restaurant, The Parlor . As we all ducked down I looked to my right and saw something. It looked so good. It was bread.       I had had some earlier but Mimi had told me to throw it out so I had no evidence. Then my mouth started to water.        Then a car pulled in. "Rudy!!!" Everyone shouted.      I watched as Mimi pulled out her phone. She checked her texts and announced, ¨ He is coming in a few seconds.       Everyone was getting scared. I was too. If Rudy came in at the same time as Coco and Jenny, then all of our planning would be ruined. A man came up to the door. Apparently someone recognized him because Mimi rushed to unlock

SUN

Image
The sun is a beautiful sight, The sun never sees what you or I might,  watching over us each and every day,  The sun fills us with happiness when it stays. It fills me up when I open my eyes and waking up from sleep,  It fills me up when I am eating breakfast, when it sends a lot of heat. It fills me up on my way to school each day,  It fills me up when I walk through the door and makes me want to shout, ¨Hooray¨ It fills me up when I´m feeling glum and don´t know the answer to math, It fills me up by making the world brighter on every sort of path.  BUT....... Sometimes the sun is not there,  The clouds hide it everywhere,  There is no place that you or I can see it,  But, don't you fret,  It doesn't stay there forever,  You will see it in other weather.

BUTTERCREAM!

It was a sunny day outside. My uncle was visiting from Wisconsin and it was his last day here. We were baking a cake and we were almost done. All we had to do was make the buttercream. We knew that it would not taste the best because we did not have vanilla and I suggested vanilla extract but "NO!      We had poured all of the dry ingredients into the small mixing bowl. I was holding the hand mixer so I had to mix. I thought that the bowl was too tiny but I decided not to say it and, see what happened.       I guess it was my fault for what happened next. Lets just say that it was a mess. I had mixed and a LOT of powered sugar flew out of the bowl.       I would have to way that more powdered sugar was out of the bowl than the amount in. And a lot went into my mouth, nose, eyes, and ears, almost every opening on my face.       And I could not slow it down because it was at the slowest that it could go to. So I did what every 9 year old would do, turn off the mixer.       Un

STUCK!!!

¨ Knock, knock, knock.¨ Someone was knocking on the door. We were in the beginning of science class. We were playing guess that picture.       Logan went to open the door. He tried to open the door but was hard to open. You had to push and pull at the same time or something. It was hard.       Preston went to help him out as Mr. Wright said, ¨Coming!¨ He rushed to walk to open the door.      When he was at the door he tried everything but he still could not open the door. I was getting pretty scared. ¨We are having a hard time opening the door, can you please come back later.¨  Mr. Wright said.       He went to the phone to call for help. I could feel my heart beating as fast as it could. I was starting to sweat and I pulled my mask down.      A few minutes later a few people came to the door. Mr.Wright said that they were locksmiths.       The teacher did not seem scared or nervous because he continued our game. As the new pictures was being drawn I got more scared because a half

Worlds Worst Fire Drill

It was one of those days. The clock was ticking and it was around five more minutes until recess. I was watching the clock getting ready for Mr. Stillway to yell out, ¨ Close your computers and get ready for recess." I felt my heart beating as I looked at the clock on my computer and the one on the wall on top of the door way.       Then I felt a ping. I had to use the bathroom. Why did it have to be 4 minutes before my recess. I guess I had to be quick. I held up my hand in the air with a fist, signaling that I had to use the bathroom. My teacher noticed right away and nodded his head.       I walked at my full speed trying to get to the girls bathroom as fast as I could. But I guess it was not fast enough. Two girls got there two seconds before me.        I could not wait this long. I zoomed back into my classroom. My teacher was still at his desk on his computer.       ¨Can I please use the downstairs bathroom please." I asked hoping he would say yes.       ¨ Sure, make
