Hanging With Mimi

It was a warm and humid day and it was my 8th Birthday! I was so exited but when we were setting up for the party I got to go with Mimi. I got my mask when Mimi came and hopped into the car.

We were driving to her house and when we got there she told me I could open a present. I did not want to because I wanted to open more presents at home. Mostly because I love to open presents. 

Then she asked me what I wanted to do. I did not know because I never do. She suggested Ice- Cream which I agreed to.  

We were driving to a Ice- Cream shop.

¨ What do you want. ¨ My Mimi asks me as she says all the flavors.

I pick the vanilla cone with a hard chocolate on the outside. We go to the window and order. The ice- cream was really yummy. My Mimi told me how she would bite the top and sip out the ice- cream  without breaking the shell. I did not work. 

We drove while we ate. We drove around Lordship because my mom wants to live there and we can not really find a good house that we like. We drove to the seawall and beyond.  

Then we went back to her house to get the presents into Poppy´s car.

I love hanging with Mimi!

    Ice cream and presents! Two of my favorites! I always make such a mess when I eat an ice cream cone! So much so that I usually now get it turned upside down in a cup so nothing can drip!

¨ I love the farm.¨ My sister shouted at us, and I felt pretty much the same. We were going to a farm on a random day so I was a little confused. My mom and dad never let us go places for no reason. We all got in the car and we went in the car for a long time just driving and driving. Then we reached ¨ The farm.¨ but the farm was not a farm.   It was a dark and breezy winter night and I was coming home from my my mom's friends daughters dance recital. I was so much fun and everyone did great! When we got home we parked the car in the garage and we ran to the door because we were so tired.  My sister opened the door and said,¨ It is locked.¨ Everyone tried opening the door but it was definitely locked. No one knew what to do, but my mom unlocked the car and we all went in, except for daddy. ¨Can I honk the horn?¨ I asked Mom. She said no. We were sitting in the front seat because we never get to go in the front. I kept touching all the parts of the steering wheel, trying to find where the horn was hidden.   An anxious feeling filled my body as I sat patiently, waiting onstage for my numbers to be called. “ You did great in all of your dances,” I told myself. " Why are you getting so nervous? It won't change anything. “ Thinking this just made the anxiousness get worse. The awards had just started, and my first number had been called. “ Featherstone… Platinum.” The announcer called. This was my contemporary dance, my favorite dance this season. In case you didn't know, your dances were ranked with Gold being the lowest and then going High Gold, Platinum, and then Diamond being the highest. My friend Madison went up to retrieve the trophy and pins, and I smiled in relief that we did pretty well.
