 School

Every week day I come into school, 
Today I am going to tell you why this is so cool. 

Every three days I go to kindergarten,
to help them grow just like a garden. 
Then I back up to the fifth grade, 
so that in a couple of years, I can get paid.

We go to special right then after,  
Art, Music, Library, and PE, 
Art is my favorite out of the 1+3. 

When we come back we go to Mrs. Grindle for science and social studies,
in there we do experiments with all of our buddies.  
Time to switch back again, 
I sit at seat that has my name, Wren. 

Next up is math, 
this is right up my path. 
Math is my favorite out of all of the subjects at school,
it makes me feel as if I am swimming in a pool. 

Lunch is next, super fun, 
hold on, school is almost done!!!

After recess is reading and writing, 
they are both super exciting. 

Now it's time to go home, 
I guess that school is done,
but tomorrow will be just as much fun!!!!!!

    It always amazes me how you can whip out a poem like this so easily. You were just sitting on the couch typing away...I'm curious if this poem truly represents your feelings about school and if it does, how you can show these feelings more at home. I love that you get to help in kindergarten. You're really good with younger kids and I know this part of your day brings you joy. ❤️ Mom

    Wow -- you are quite the rhyming poet! Are you really going to get paid for going to kindergarten or was that masterful poetic rhyming??

    What a lovely rhyming poem that took us through a day in the life of a fifth grader.
    Switching classes can be hard, but you found all of the positives in your happy school day poem.

The ¨ Farm ¨

¨ I love the farm.¨ My sister shouted at us, and I felt pretty much the same. We were going to a farm on a random day so I was a little confused. My mom and dad never let us go places for no reason. We all got in the car and we went in the car for a long time just driving and driving. Then we reached ¨ The farm.¨ but the farm was not a farm. It was a bunch of plants in a greenhouse I thought what was that we are at a garden. My mom said that it wasn't exactly a farm she said it was more of a garden with animals.   It was a dark and breezy winter night and I was coming home from my my mom's friends daughters dance recital. I was so much fun and everyone did great! When we got home we parked the car in the garage and we ran to the door because we were so tired.  My sister opened the door and said,¨ It is locked.¨ Everyone tried opening the door but it was definitely locked. No one knew what to do, but my mom unlocked the car and we all went in, except for daddy. ¨Can I honk the horn?¨ I asked Mom. She said no. We were sitting in the front seat because we never get to go in the front. I kept touching all the parts of the steering wheel, trying to find where the horn was hidden. We started opening compartments and touching the mirror. We were actually having fun. HONK!!! The horn finally honked and everyone laughed except for mom.  ¨ I told you no.¨ Mom said. ¨Wait!¨ I screamed I was looking out the window at dad. Dance

  An anxious feeling filled my body as I sat patiently, waiting onstage for my numbers to be called. “ You did great in all of your dances,” I told myself. " Why are you getting so nervous? It won't change anything. “ Thinking this just made the anxiousness get worse. The awards had just started, and my first number had been called. “ Featherstone… Platinum.” The announcer called. This was my contemporary dance, my favorite dance this season. In case you didn't know, your dances were ranked with Gold being the lowest and then going High Gold, Platinum, and then Diamond being the highest. My friend Madison went up to retrieve the trophy and pins, and I smiled in relief that we did pretty well.
